Adjusted / homogenized climate data
Access links to climate datasets based on historical climate observations, which were created for use in climate research including climate change studies.
Adjusted and Homogenized Canadian Climate Data
Access Adjusted and Homogenized Canadian Climate Data (AHCCD).
AHCCD consist of monthly, seasonal and annual means of homogenized daily maximum, minimum and mean surface air temperature; monthly, seasonal and annual totals of adjusted daily rainfall, snowfall and total precipitation; homogenized monthly, seasonal and annual means of hourly surface wind speed; and monthly, seasonal and annual means of hourly station and sea level pressure. These data were created at several stations across the country for use in climate research including climate change studies. They incorporate a number of adjustments applied to the original station data to address shifts due to changes in instruments and observing procedures. At times, observations from several stations were joined to generate a longer time series.

Adjusted and Homogenized Daily Temperature and Precipitation
Access Adjusted and Homogenized Daily Temperature and Precipitation (AHCCD – daily T&P)
AHCCD – daily T&P data consist of homogenized daily maximum, minimum and mean surface air temperature and adjusted daily rainfall, snowfall and total precipitation. These data were created at several stations across the country for use in climate research including climate change studies. They incorporate a number of adjustments applied to the original station data to address shifts due to changes in instruments and observing procedures. At times, observations from several stations were joined to generate a longer time series.
Adjusted Daily Rainfall and Snowfall
Access Adjusted Daily Rainfall and Snowfall
This dataset contains adjusted daily rainfall and snowfall data from all Canadian stations reporting rainfall and snowfall. Data processing includes inspection and adjustments using quality control procedures customized for producing gridded datasets. A total of 2146 stations were processed and their record lengths vary from 3 to 167 years. Observations from several stations were not joined to generate a longer time series. The data can be used to produce gridded precipitation datasets.
Canadian Gridded Temperature and Precipitation Anomalies
Access Canadian Gridded Temperature and Precipitation Anomalies (CANGRD).
This dataset is a set of Canadian gridded annual, seasonal, and monthly temperature and precipitation anomalies, which were interpolated from stations in the Adjusted and Homogenized Canadian Climate Data (AHCCD). CANGRD is used to produce the Climate Trends and Variations Bulletin (CTVB).
This dataset is also available on the climate data viewer and climate data extraction tool.
Canadian Blended Precipitation
Access Canadian Blended Precipitation (CanBP)
The CanBP dataset contains blended gauge and satellite estimates of monthly mean precipitation (mm/day) for Canada (time period starting from January 1979 to December 2007) at a half degree spatial resolution.
